Road Accident: The unfortunate Michalis was running without a seat belt and at excessive speed (EIKONES)

The car in which the unfortunate Michalis Theodorou was traveling with an 18-year-old female passenger who was seriously injured and a 19-year-old female passenger who was slightly injured turned into an amorphous mass of ironwork.

According to the Police, under circumstances that are being investigated, the deceased while driving a saloon car on Arch. Makariou Avenue in Pervolia in the direction of Faros. Apparently, due to excessive speed, he lost control of the car, veered to the right off the road and after clipping bushes, collided with concrete walls.

The impact threw the vehicle into the air and came to rest upside down about 20 meters below. As a result of the collision, the driver was trapped inside the car. He was freed by the Fire Service and later transferred to the Larnaca General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Also, the 19-year-old woman who was inside the vehicle and was sitting in the back seat was thrown from the car, while she was taken to the Larnaca General Hospital, she is badly injured, has undergone surgery and her condition is critical. The 19-year-old who was a passenger is hospitalized in Larnaca hospital out of danger.

From the tests, it appears that the 19-year-old and the 19-year-old woman with multiple injuries were not wearing seat belts.
