According to the company's announcement, the fire that broke out on Saturday, June 11, was caused by a mobile shredder while tire shredding work was being carried out.

"The working staff was activated immediately and took all the appropriate actions, such as the use of portable fire extinguishers, the fixed fire extinguishing system with water installed in the area and other means, while at the same time the Fire Service was informed and responded immediately. The staff of the company that worked did not run any risk and they are all well ", the announcement states.

The company states that despite the efforts due to the strong winds that prevailed, it was not possible to extinguish the fire, as a result of which it was transported to adjacent piles and expanded. "With coordinated actions with the Fire Service and EMAK, and using selected associates and our staff, we managed to reduce the fire in a specific area," he notes.

According to the company, the specific storage space is licensed and was selected due to the long distance it has from both communities and homes as well as from vegetable crops and forests. All safety requirements set out in the storage and management licenses are met with due diligence, the statement said.
