YEEB: Sponsorship Plan announced to support small and medium enterprises for processing or marketing of agricultural products

The Sponsorship Plan for the Creation, Modernization and Digital Upgrading of Agricultural Products Processing and Trading Units was announced on Tuesday, March 1, 2022.

The Ministry of Energy, Trade and Industry (YEEB) announces that it has been announced the Sponsorship Plan for Creation, Modernization and Digital Upgrading of Agricultural Products Processing and Marketing Units. The total amount that will be allocated for the needs of the announcement amounts to € 25 million.

The Plan aims at support for existing and new small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) as defined in Annex I to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union (TFEU) and which are or will be active in the processing or marketing of agricultural products.

Activities related to the fisheries and aquaculture sectors, wines and wine vinegar listed in Part II of Annex VII to Regulation (EU) 1308/2013, are not covered by the Plan.

Troubled enterprises within the meaning of the Community guidelines on State aid for rescuing and restructuring non-financially troubled enterprises (2014 / C 249/01) are NOT eligible for sponsorship under this Plan.

It is pointed out that the specific provision of the Guide (paragraph 9.2) has been amended after a relevant clarification received from the European Commission. Those interested can obtain the final Guide to the Plan which contains all the details, the Application Form as well as other required forms or documents, from the website of the Industry & Technology Service www.meci.gov.cy/sit.

The submission period starts on March 1, 2022 at 08:00 am. and applications will be accepted through the electronic Drawing System. Sponsorships of YEEB until June 24, 2022 at 23.59 pm or until the available budget is exhausted.

It is clarified that applications with a total budget of € 35 million will be accepted, however the maximum amount of approvals will not exceed the available budget of this call, ie € 25 million. The order of priority will be determined based on the order of submission of proposals and will an immediate evaluation is made. An application will be considered successful if it has received a score of 55%.

Applications and related required documents should only be submitted electronically on the website https://fundingapps.mcit.gov.cy, using Chrome, Firefox or Microsoft Edge systems.

It is noted that the Plan will be implemented under Measure C3.1I6 of the Cyprus Recovery and Sustainability Plan (SAP) and will be funded by the European Union Recovery and Sustainability Mechanism (EU), the central tool of NextGenerationEU, its provisional funding instrument. recovery and exit of the EU from the crisis caused by the pandemic.
