Υφ. Tourism: Fund over € 2 million for financing projects in the countryside

An amount of over € 2 million for financing projects for the Creation of Authentic Experiences, announced the Ministry of Tourism, inviting those interested to submit applications for funding for projects related to the Creation of Authentic Experiences for Enrichment and Upgrading of the Tourism Product.

Specifically, according to the announcement of the State Ministry, an amount amounting to € 2,050,000 will be allocated for the needs of this announcement, which falls under the Grant Scheme for the Revitalization of rural, mountainous and remote areas, following the relevant decision of the Council of Ministers .

It is clarified that the Plan will be implemented within the framework of Measure C3.1I10 "Enrichment of the tourism product in rural, mountainous and remote areas" of the Cyprus Recovery and Sustainability Plan (SAP) and will be funded by the EU Recovery and Sustainability Mechanism (EU ).

Under this project, support is provided for limited-scale restoration of public and private buildings and open spaces for, inter alia, their reuse in order to become accessible and suitable for experiential activities in the fields of gastronomy, creation and processing, hosting, among others, artists, craftsmen, visitable workshops of traditional products, etc.

It is also noted that the improvement of the aesthetics and accessibility of the open spaces, the development of alternative tourism forms (such as religious tourism, cultural tourism, observation of flora and fauna, geology and rural activities, as well as adventure tourism, climbing, cycling, recreation, etc.).

The State Department refers the interested parties on the website www.tourism.gov.cy to the "Incentives & Grants", in order to provide the final Guide of the Plan in which all the details are mentioned, together with the Annexes, including the Application form.

Please note that applications will be accepted until November 30, 2022 at 15:00 or until the available budget is exhausted, while the order of priority will be determined based on the order of submission of proposals (immediate evaluation) and the maximum amount of approvals will not exceed available budget of the Call.
