The first day of the start of classes for the school year 2022-23 in the 113 schools of Secondary General Education and the Technical Schools, went smoothly today and given the staffing and all other preparations made in time, the schools have started their operations immediately and they can devote themselves undividedly to their work, says a statement from the Ministry of Education, Sports and Youth (YMPAN).
Given the improved health conditions and without the need for drastic protection measures, it is noted, the school can focus undividedly on its main mission, which is teaching, learning, cultivating skills and developing the personality of students.
Regarding some publications and reports in the media about the expulsion of students in a high school in the province of Larnaca, the Ministry states that this does not correspond to reality, since there was no expulsion of students in this particular school and this is incorrect news.
"The misleading impressions that may be created do not change the image of the smooth operation today beyond the 120 schools throughout Cyprus. For this reason there is no room for comment," it added.
At the same time, it is noted, no report or complaint has been presented by parents of the specific school to the Ministry's Services.
The Ministry of Education reminds that, if parents or guardians face an issue or have a complaint, they contact the District Offices or the corresponding Department of Education of the Ministry and then it is examined.
