The Ministry of Health issued an announcement on the process of transferring innovative treatments and specialized medicines.
Specifically, the announcement states that "with reference to a publication in the newspaper Phileleftheros about the process of transferring innovative treatments, chemotherapy and specialized drugs to the provinces, the Ministry of Health informs that actions have already been put in place that will resolve any problems of delay observed for the benefit of patients .
Worthy of mention is the fact that for the first time, following the instructions of the Minister of Health, Mr. Michalis Hatzipantelas, it was decided to grant medicines approved by the Nominal Claims Committee (EOA) to the private hospitals that are contracted to the GESY, for better and faster patient service . The start date of the new program was set at 1/7/2022.
However the software differentiation process has contributed to the delay being observed and superhuman efforts are being made to resolve the software issue and the process differentiation.
With a new circular sent on 30/6/2022, the Ministry of Health informed that the start date is postponed to 2/10/2022.
Therefore, all the necessary actions are being taken and every effort is being made to start the specific program from August 1, 2022.
The issue of the timely supply of drugs from all hospitals will be resolved by the inclusion of innovative drugs in the lists reimbursed by the Health Insurance Organization, as the delivery in most cases will be made directly by the pharmaceutical companies".
