The "weakened" "EVA" retreats - What will the weather be like today in Cyprus

The weakened barometric low "EVA" located southeast of Cyprus, is retreating moving east, reports the Department of Meteorology.

Today periods of sunshine will alternate with local cloudiness, while isolated rains or even a short storm are expected, in the morning mainly in the eastern half of the island, but later also in the mountainous and southern areas of the island.

The temperature will rise to around 23 degrees inland and on the coast and around 13 degrees in the higher mountains.

The winds will blow mainly north to northeast, weak to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort, but in the eastern half of the island moderate and in the morning locally strong, 4 to 5 Beaufort. The sea will be a little rough. The temperature will rise to around 23 degrees inland and on the coasts and around 13 degrees in the higher mountains.

Tonight there will be locally increased clouds which are expected to give isolated rain or even a storm, mainly on the northern and eastern coasts. Winds will blow northwest to northeast and locally to easterly, weak 3 Beaufort but in the east moderate and later transient to strong, 4 to 5 Beaufort. The sea will be a little rough. The temperature will drop to around 11 degrees inland, around 14 on the coast and around 7 degrees in the higher mountains.

On Wednesday, the weather will be partly cloudy and partly cloudy, with local showers and isolated thunderstorms. On Thursday, periods of sunshine will alternate with clouds and isolated rain, while a storm is also possible in the northeast. On Friday, the weather will be mostly clear, but locally there will be temporarily increased cloudiness that may give isolated rain, mainly in the mountains.

The temperature is not expected to change significantly until Thursday, to remain close to the average climatic values, while a slight increase is expected on Friday.
