Metaxa Case: Premiere postponed for 15 police officers-"Everything will come to light"

The curtain opened with a postponement of the disciplinary prosecutions of fifteen members of the Police for the case of the serial killer, Nikos Metaxas.

According to the Police press representative, Christos Andreou, a postponement has been given until July 11 because the lawyers of the accused have requested a postponement in order to study some witness material.

He noted that there are also independent cases concerning the province of Larnaca that also involve a senior officer there.

The president of the "EQUITY" branch of the police force also spoke about this specific issue.

Nikos Loizidis initially wondered how AADIPA, with its law, can order disciplinary action against a Chief of Police and how can the one who orders disciplinary action, i.e. the Chief, appoint the one who will be the head of the committee, the senior officer who is his employee.

"When I am your boss I cannot tell you to judge whom I order you to judge. There is a conflict of interest. An incomplete investigative work was done, they always stop at some point and the investigations do not proceed because I do not want to remind who was responsible in all the TAE Pangypria, I do not want to remind that the investigations of citizens stopped and when I say citizens I will say it clearly, the inquiries about Metaxas only to police officers. They did not proceed to the Legal Service. They crossed the threshold of AADIPA the Minister of Justice who had resigned and had said that he has a complaint from the police and immediately the Attorney General gave instructions to stop the investigations to the Police".

He also noted that he disagrees with the Police spokesperson, Christos Andreou, that there are other bodies to find justice afterwards. "It is very bad for a police officer to be sentenced to coercion, to resign for misconduct and run five years to the Supreme Court to get justice and get his money."

In closing, he said that everything will come to light, nothing will be left in the dark and everyone will take their responsibilities and the responsibilities that were hidden for so many years will come to light, even for those who are not on the disciplinary record.
