The Minister of Health, Popi Kanari, stated that there is an increase in the number of coronavirus cases, but not an epidemiological wave and that there is optimism that, with the measures taken, the cases will subside in a few weeks.
Speaking to the Morning Route, the health minister added that some of the measures announced were in place, but were not being implemented due to indifference, fatigue and insufficient supervision.
Mrs Kanari reiterated the need to raise awareness for vaccination of vulnerable groups and the elderly, stressing that previous vaccines do not cover the evolutionary strain of Omicron found in the current cases.
