Normally the salary of replacement teachers who will get sick with coronavirus will be paid, during the replacement period.
In a statement, the Ministry of Education notes that, according to instructions from the Competent Authority, due to the extremely difficult conditions of the pandemic, it was decided that in case a substitute teacher, during his service in a public school, falls ill with COVID-19, the salary for the days of absence that fall within the replacement period, will be paid.
In addition, the days of his absence will be counted for purposes of recognition of his previous service.
Therefore, substitute teachers should present to the Principal of the school a certificate of illness issued by the Ministry of Health or the message they will receive on their mobile phone for their release.
This directive has immediate effect, the statement said.
