Zacharias Koulias: "Citizens can not be divided into categories of vaccinated and non-vaccinated"

The involvement of the Parliament in the decisions for the measures taken by the Government for the pandemic was requested again on Wednesday by the DIKO MP, Zacharias Koulias, who registered the specific issue for discussion in the Parliamentary Committee on Institutions.

Speaking on the sidelines of the Committee on Institutions, Mr. Koulias said that he believes that the measures taken by the Government for the pandemic should be approved by the Parliament, for the purpose of ensuring human rights and the rule of law and its provisions. Constitution.

The matter has been registered in the Committee on Institutions and Values for discussion under the title "The need for the approval of the measures taken by the government for the pandemic, to be approved by the Parliament for the purposes of ensuring human rights and the rule of law and provisions of the Constitution and the rule of law and the constitution ".

As Mr. Koulias noted, the European Parliament has adopted serious resolutions, according to which citizens should not be blackmailed into undergoing medical procedures, which they do not agree with.

"Citizens can not be divided into categories of vaccinated and non-vaccinated or blackmailed by certain groups or forced to perform a medical procedure that does not agree," he said.

He explained that there is a general provision on these issues in the constitution and on Infectious Diseases, but noted that from 1960 until today it has not been implemented.

Mr. Koulias expressed the assessment that at the moment with the pandemic "the government with its decrees affects the constitutional rights of the citizens", to add that "there must be a legislative regulation and the Parliament must be involved".

"It is the duty of the Parliament to cooperate with the government on such issues, but to have an institutional and legislative framework," he added.
