And I am more afraid that I will see the lame Maria helping with the crutches in the nearest electronics store to get the new electronic gadget, so that she can then brag in the cafes of Makarios (or even of Paralimni), for her joining social status. Because this is how we Cypriots are: We weigh the value of a person depending on the make of the car, the mobile phone, the t-shirt and the size of the house. Everything else is completely indifferent to us.

So, the new gadget "Koutsi Maria" that we were talking about will get, and I will hear the questions like: "What is the App-Store?", "But it does not send files via Bluetooth?", "But it does not connect via USB ; ” and blood will rise to my head.

Because this gadget that you will get in your hands tomorrow is not just a tablet to post light and Like on Facebook or play Angry Birds, but it is the epitome of modern technology, a touch screen for which Steve Jobs, as we read in his biography, he devoted years of work and countless efforts, is the transition from the technological world of the button, to the world of touch. A tablet that has hundreds (if not thousands) of functions and utilities.

So, if you are planning to buy an iPad just for showcase, or to satisfy your unbridled consumer "I" or worse to use only 1% of its potential, then think again…
