SafePass only for vaccinated from October 18

As the vaccination coverage at least with 1η dose has reached 81,1% of the adult population and at the same time the percentage of fully vaccinated adults is 78,4%, the Ministry of Health has proceeded to re-evaluate the conditions for issuing SafePass.

A check-up revealed that about 11,000 people had been vaccinated with 1η dose, but have not subsequently proceeded to vaccination with 2η dose. Single-dose vaccination, according to scientific data, offers lower coverage and does not protect against mutations as well.

Therefore, it was deemed necessary to make the necessary amendments to the SafePass vaccination requirement. Specifically, by decision of the Council of Ministers, from October 18, only fully vaccinated individuals will be able to issue SafePass (vaccination with both vaccine doses or with the Janssen single-dose vaccine).

Citizens who received 1 are therefore encouragedη dose and the time required for 2 has elapsedη dose (3 weeks for the Pfizer / BioNTech vaccine, 4 weeks for the Moderna vaccine and 8 weeks for the AstraZeneca vaccine), to be vaccinated by October 17 at open-air vaccination centers .

Those who do not wish to proceed with the download 2th From 18 October onwards, for SafePass purposes, they should have a negative result from a PCR or rapid antigen test with a strength of 72 hours. Individuals who do not complete their vaccination regimen after the required days have elapsed between 1th and 2th PCR or rapid antigen examination at their own expense in private pharmacies or clinical laboratories should be performed.

The above regulation will be included in a Decree to be issued in the coming days.

Finally, it is clarified that the conditions for issuing a SafePass with a certificate of recovery from the disease COVID-19 in the last 6 months and with a certificate of negative test (PCR or rapid antigen test) with a validity of 72 hours, are not affected and continue to be valid as they are.
