Cabbage stuffing with tomato sauce

Ingredients for 6 people

• 1 large cabbage
• Or a kilo of minced meat
• 1 medium onion, finely chopped
• Or a cup of rice
• salt

For the sauce

• 2 medium onions cut into thin slices
• Or a cup of butter
• 2 cups tomato juice
• some sugar
• salt
• pepper

Implementation

1. Remove the thick stalk and the damaged leaves from the cabbage.
2. Boil water in a large saucepan and put in the cabbage.
3. Boil it for 5 minutes, remove from the heat and leave it for another 15 minutes in boiling water to soften the leaves.
4. Stir in the minced meat, onion, rice, salt and pepper.
5. Take a leaf from the cabbage, remove the thick spots, put 1 full spoon of the minced meat mixture and wrap it in a roll without squeezing it.
6. Saute the sliced ​​onions in a saucepan with the butter until they wither. Put the dolmadas in rows.
7. Add the tomato juice, water, sugar, salt and pepper.
8. Cover the pot and let the dolmadas simmer for about 1 hour.
