It seems that the occupying authorities are planning to open a new section in occupied Famagusta. Specifically, according to the information, it is a section south of Famagusta that includes the area of ​​Agios Memnon.

This is another step in the plans of the occupying regime for the besieged Famagusta, again violating the resolutions of the United Nations.

Commenting on the information on the RIK show "Challenges", the Minister of Foreign Affairs Ioannis Kasoulidis said that according to information from the government, the occupying authorities intend to proceed with the opening of a new part of the occupied Famagusta and specifically mentioned the area of ​​Agios Memnon.

Commenting on Ersin Tatar's statement regarding the opening of public buildings in occupied Famagusta, he confirmed that this is what the information reaching the government also states.

Tatar: Maybe we will open public and municipal buildings in Famagusta

Public and municipal buildings may be opened in the closed Famagusta in the next period, Turkish Cypriot leader Ersin Tatar reiterated, claiming that "their decision to open the closed area was very correct, which is no longer a ghost town and many tourists from Turkey and other countries definitely visit Varosi when they come to the occupied territories".

In his statements on the Turkish channel Ulusal, E. Tatar claimed that the pseudo-state "he has gained a lot from this opening and the prospects of Varosi in tourism are great, while from an economic point of view the pseudo-state has a lot to benefit from."

The "tdvk" (pseudocracy), as he said, "is a reality". The recognition of the pseudo-state is being discussed, he continued. “More consultation is needed on recognition. We tell the international community at every opportunity that the path we are on is the right one and that the Turkish Cypriot people deserve it after the genocides and persecutions they went through and never stopped resisting. We will continue our way in cooperation with the Turkish Republic", he further argued.

Regarding the Cyprus problem, he said that "there is no question of accepting to discuss the federation and becoming partners with the Greek Cypriots, nor the withdrawal of the Turkish army and the cancellation of Turkey's guarantees". He also reiterated the position for the existence of "two states" on the island and the acceptance of "sovereign equality and equal international status".
