The court found two young people from Nicosia guilty of raping a minor in the summer of 2020 in Ayia Napa.
The two defendants, aged 20, had met the minor, who was then 17 years old, in a nightclub, where they had fun. While the girl was under the influence of alcohol, the two defendants took her to a hotel room, where they raped her.
The girl testified at the trial as the main prosecution witness and was judged credible by the court in relation to what she said. It is noted that the procedure was conducted in camera, for the purpose of protecting the identity of the victim.
The case is set for a hearing on April 13.
