The events of Agia Napa for the Flood culminated on Sunday night with the big concert with the popular singer Vassilis Karras. Official guests at the concert are the Minister of Energy, Trade, Industry and Tourism, George Lakkotrypis and the Mayor of the ancient city of Byblos in Lebanon, with whom the Municipality of Ayia Napa has developed particularly close relations.
In the morning, a Divine Liturgy was celebrated in the church of Agios Georgios. Then priests and believers boarded fishing boats and went off the coast where the water was sanctified.
The four-day events of the Flood Festival, the Fisherman's Day and the 6th Water Festival that started on Friday 25 May are held in the land area of the port from 25 to 28 May.
The Fly Board Show with the Exclusive Cyprus Distributor is completed today in the port of Ayia Napa, while yesterday, Sunday, the pan-Cypriot water skiing competitions were held.
Today, at 10 in the morning, the 6th Water Festival started, while in the framework of the Fish Festival, the visitors are offered fish appetizers prepared by the fish taverns of the area. In the same place there is an exhibition of photography and fishing gear.
Tonight, the Dance Club of the Municipality of Ayia Napa will present island dances, while Cypriot music and dances will present the musical group of the Cultural Group of Ayia Napa "Kavo Greko", the dance group "Kimon" Xylotympou Damou Agou Nam and the dance group with the participation of Michalis and Dimitra Hadjimichael.
In addition, there will be a contest of chanters, love songs and poems in which folk poets participate.
