Effervescence prevails among well-known social media companies and not only because of the case with the false - as it turned out - allegation of gang rape of a British woman by Israelis in Ayia Napa.
The case, which took on a global dimension from the first moment with extensive publications in the international press, continues to concern, this time as to the content of the video in question that leaked via WhatsApp.
According to a Sunday Times article, citing statements by the defense lawyer of the 19-year-old Brit, the latter fell victim to a "porn revenge" and the internet was "flooded" with material from her personal moments. The reason that social media companies and pink content platforms have found themselves in a difficult situation is because they have not been able to remove this content from their websites.
According to the article, the leaked video was published many times on a well-known pink content platform, the most famous in the world. The newspaper reportedly contacted the company and was waiting for a response. The article refers to campaigns that started on Social Media and calls on companies not to host "pornographic revenge" content on their platforms. The article also contains testimonies of people who fell victim to such incidents.
