Sixteen beaches of the Municipality of Agia Napa were awarded the Blue Flag

Sixteen beaches of the Municipality of Ayia Napa and the Marina of Ayia Napa, were awarded the Blue Flag during the Blue Flag awarding ceremony for the year 2023, which took place on Tuesday at the "Vuppa" beach of the Community Council of Agios Tychonas, in the presence of the Minister of Agriculture , of Rural Development and Environment Petros Xenophontos.

In a statement from the Municipality of Ayia Napa, it is stated that the sixteen Blue Flags were received by the Minister of Agriculture, Mayor Christos Zannettou, who "expressed his satisfaction that for one more year all the beaches of the Municipality are awarded with a "Blue Flag" because they meet all the provisions of the relevant European directive on the quality of marine waters and a series of provisions that ensure the safety of bathers and the protection of the environment".

He added that "the success of obtaining 16 Blue Flags is due to all our visitors, Cypriots and foreigners, who with their long-term support implement quality actions and projects, as well as upgrading the services of Ayia Napa, an effort that gives added value to tourism, both both nationally and locally".

Mr. Zannettos congratulated and thanked "the services of the Municipality, especially the beach department and the Beach Inspector of the Municipality Dimitris Pateras, who work every day with zeal and dedication, so that there are these positive results every year that contribute the most to the positive image of the Municipality and in upgrading the tourist product of Ayia Napa. He also congratulated the Marina of Ayia Napa, which for the second consecutive year obtained the "Blue Flag" in the category for Marinas, proving in practice the efforts to promote the quality and unique product they offer."

He also thanked "all those who coordinate and have the overall responsibility of the Blue Flag program, the National Judge of the Blue Flag and Cymepa as well as the Community Council of Agios Tychonas, especially the President of the Community Council, Community Leader Pambo Ioannou for the hospitality.

According to the announcement "the awarded beaches are the following: "Konnos", "Limnara", "Ammos tou Kambouri", "Sweet Water", "Pandahou", "Lukkos tou Mantis", "Katsarka", "Pernera", " Vathia Gonia", "Island", "Nissi Bay", "Landa", "Makronisos", Ziatzi, Luma and "Agia Thekla".
