"Group rape" in Ayia Napa: Testified by the psychologist of the 19-year-old from Britain

The hearing of the psychologist of the 19-year-old British woman, who is accused of public harm after a false accusation of rape by 12 Israelis, continues the hearing process, which will take place today before the Larnaca District Court.

The psychologist will testify via a video conference that will take place at 12 noon, as part of the trial process, following a request for the defense of the 19-year-old, in order, as she claimed, to confirm that the accused suffers from post-traumatic stress.

This, due to the fact that the 19-year-old, who was summoned to testify before the Court whether she told the police and the social worker that she was raped when she was 13 years old by a very friendly person, answered in the negative, adding that "there was no such case to rape at this age. I did not hurry until I came to Ayia Napa ", while she noted that at the age of 13 she had post-traumatic stress because she had a dangerous accident with her horse and they had to kill her.

The accused also stated that she had told the investigators of the case that she was taking medication for post-traumatic stress, which was written to her by her psychologist in Britain, who is expected to testify.

For its part, the Prosecution Authority stated that the psychologist who will testify via teleconference, is a witness of opinion and not of facts, while he could testify in the main trial and be examined.

Also, the representative of the Prosecution Authority, Adamos Demosthenous, stated that in case the report of the psychologist of the accused is accepted by the Court for the truth of its content as it is, without being given the opportunity for reconsideration, it would be disastrous for the line of the Prosecution Authority.

The Daily Mail leaves questions about the deposit

The testimony of the 19-year-old British woman in which she withdraws her complaint about the gang rape in Ayia Napa has not been written by someone who has English as her mother tongue, according to a DailyMail article, which refers to an expert in these matters.

According to the same publication, a forensic linguist now claims that the 19-year-old could not write this text and will try to make the testimony inadmissible.

The British woman herself claims that she was forced by the police to change her story, while there are words that have been dictated in "Greek-English".

Her lawyer told DailyMail that an 18-page report by forensic linguist Dr. Andrea Nini will support the case.

In particular, he said: "He has done mathematical analysis of the words of the deposit and has come to the conclusion that it is very unlikely that they are words of someone who has English as his mother tongue but they seem to be someone who speaks English as a second language."

The 19-year-old, for her part, claims that "she is very educated and that she will go to a university, which offered her an unconditional position, so it is impossible that she wrote this paragraph herself."

The British lawyer will ask the judge of the case to listen to the lecturer of the University of Manchester via video in the Larnaca court in an attempt to convince him to make the testimony inadmissible. The specialist is also expected to provide evidence for the post-traumatic stress of the 19-year-old and how much it affects her in stressful situations.
