An 18-year-old man from Liopetri was arrested by MMAD men when he was found possessing and using banned wild bird trapping devices.
According to the Police, yesterday morning in the rural area "Frakti", land of Liopetri, men of the MMAD poaching squad found an 18-year-old from Liopetri to possess and use prohibited means of trapping wild birds.
The young man was arrested for a self-inflicted crime and a wild bird trapping network, a wild bird mimicry device consisting of a loudspeaker, a car battery, a transformer, a usb and about 60 meters of electric cable were confiscated as evidence.
After written consent, the house and its premises were searched, which were located near the "Frakti" area, where a DOKO type firearm was located and confiscated.
The weapon is owned by an 18-year-old cousin, also 18 years old from Liopetri.
The 18-year-old was transferred to the Xylofagou Police Station, where after being charged in writing he was later fired.
The case is being investigated by the Xylofagou Police Station.
