The Department of Agriculture, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Agriculture, Natural Resources and the Environment, in cooperation with the Customs Department, will carry out the destruction of 2.500 kilos of potatoes, which were illegally channeled from the occupied areas of the Republic of Cyprus to the free zones.
According to an official announcement, on July 26, during the check of a cargo that was declared to contain watermelons and the necessary accompanying documents were presented according to the Green Line Regulation, an additional quantity of 2.500 kilos of potatoes was found, which were not declared and did not have the necessary accompanying documents. .
The potatoes were confiscated and will be destroyed in the presence of officials of the Department of Agriculture and the Department of Customs.
The Customs Department, as the competent Authority for the implementation of the Green Line Regulation, is investigating the case and the appropriate sanctions will be imposed taking into account the seriousness of the case, it is reported.
