It is clear that the leader, wherever he is, leaves his mark, either positive or negative. With a visionary, determined, active, honest, inspired leader, wider societies and their subsets thrive, thrive, grow, thrive.

Knowing well the free Famagusta for twenty years, when I started dealing with the public in our province, I think I have the legitimacy to express some views about the new Municipality of Sotira.

Undoubtedly, Sotira was a large village, which, in relation to its neighbors, which became known worldwide and developed rapidly, was degraded, marginalized, out of the tourist map, even if it also has a part of its coastline. of our island.

And all this was valid until the proclamation of the Savior as a Municipality. With the elections, Mr. George Takkas was solemnly proclaimed the first mayor, a graduate man, spiritually cultured, with open horizons, innovative, modernist, sharp and sharp.

With the perspicacity and insight that distinguish him but also with the kindness and nobility of his soul, with his meek style, with his modesty, meekness and low tones, he began to implement discreetly, with vigor and determination, without applause, "I flew feathers", and big mouths that end up in the "Greek calendars", the visions and goals, both his own and those of his associates, for the good of all its citizens, but also of all those who would like to us or the tourists to choose the Savior to enjoy the endless blue of the Mediterranean.

At the beginning of July, my husband and son and I had the opportunity, invited by our best men Stavros and Florence Charalambous, from Sotira, to participate one night in a party on the beach "Poseidon". We had a wonderful time. Then we learned that without drumbeats Sotira acquired three beaches organized, modern, attractive. Another option is the beaches of Sotira, which has now entered the tourist product of free Famagusta.

On the night of July 22, with the full moon, my best man Florence who is a municipal councilor, very dynamic and remarkable, invited us again for dinner at the new center opened by the Municipality opposite Agia Thekla. Once we got there we could not believe our eyes. A very modern, well-designed, high-standard center was waiting for us, which had opened its gates three nights before.

This center belongs to the Municipality of Sotiras and rents it to three of its citizens to work on it. What characterizes it is the impeccable service, the very friendly environment, the quality of its dishes, the large portions and the very reasonable prices. Everyone can imagine the idyllic environment of the center, the romance and the magic, especially when the full moon falls on the sea opposite the center.

Everything in this center from the chairs, the tables, the dishes, etc. they are very neat, as we observed with great pleasure, but mainly our gaze enjoyed the whole garden in front of the center to the sea.

Well done to the Municipality of Sotira, the current Mayor, the municipal councilors and the collaborators, for the jewel that the beach of Sotira acquired.

I feel that we have a place to spend with our dear friends pleasant moments of relaxation and rest, a place enchanting and beautiful. Thus, Sotira acquired another center, close to the others she had until now, which made many consider it as the gastronomic center of free Famagusta.
