PA.SYNO escalates the measures of its strike mobilizations.
Today, Tuesday, March 29, 2016, all its members withdrew from the wards of the state hospitals, in which all shifts with security personnel are numerically covered with non-strikers (from wards of all state hospitals). The above measure concerns Makareio Hospital, and Nicosia and Larnaca Hospitals, but no serious problems were created.
The day after Thursday, March 31, 2016, all the members of the Guild are withdrawn from the Mental Health Services and the maternity hospitals of the hospitals. Two midwives will be assigned per shift for the safety of existing patients in all hospitals.
Next Monday, April 4, 2016, the provincial committees in collaboration with the Board. will gradually withdraw the members of PA.SYNO from the chambers. Initially, only two members per shift will be assigned to the booths where only PASYNO staff works and all its members will be gradually withdrawn.
The measures are escalating after the general assembly of the members of the Guild that took place yesterday afternoon and voted in favor of a decision to escalate the strike and after the rejection of a proposal of the Minister of Health that was submitted late against the meeting with the Board, as a continuation of the initiative. undertaken by the Pancyprian Federation of Associations of Patients and Friends (POSPF).
Today, the district committees of the Guild informed the members, who decided to reject the proposal of Mr. Georgios Pamporidis. In a letter to the Minister, PA.SYNO states that "of course we are willing to enter into a full-fledged dialogue to resolve the issues and end the strike. "Unfortunately, we find that the work problems we pose take a very different approach from your Ministry."
He reiterates that the issues he raises for discussion are the recognition of nurses in the existing university structures and their evaluation as scientific staff as well as the understaffing of Public Hospitals. "We ask for all this to be discussed before the autonomy, or to ensure the start of a parallel process of resolving the above for the existing public sector employees, while discussing the framework of the autonomy of the public hospitals.
