The horrific murder of a 70-year-old woman by her 38-year-old friend has caused chills and shock in London.
According to thesun.co.uk, 38-year-old Gemma Mitchell lost her temper and beheaded her 70-year-old friend, Mi Kuen Chong, when he refused to give her money she needed of at least £400.000 for works she was doing to add another floor to her house in Willesden, north-west London.
He then placed the decapitated corpse inside a blue suitcase and began to walk the streets of north-west London to get rid of it.
38-year-old Gemma Mitchell, as reported by the British newspaper "Sun", is accused of beat 70-year-old Mi Kuen Chong to death before beheading her and that he attempted to dispose of her lifeless body by summary procedures.
Mitchell, a former osteopath, needed at least £400.000 for work she did to add another floor to her home in Willesden, north-west London, a court heard. She put tremendous pressure on the victim, also known to her friends as Deborah, to give her the money she needed.
When Mrs Chong refused, Michelle beheaded her and dumped her body 250 miles away in Shalcombe, Devon. The head of the unfortunate woman was found ten meters away. Mitchell was an outstanding medical student and had won awards for her knowledge of the human body.
He is alleged to have murdered Ms Chong at the victim's home hitting her on the head with a blunt object, after fracturing her skull, on June 11, 2021, according to what she claimed. Mitchell then took the 70-year-old's body to her semi-derelict home and kept it there for two weeks before driving it to Devon in a rented Volvo.
After the murder, Mitchell became the primary beneficiary of the victim's will, jurors argued. As the "Sun" newspaper reports, jurors today watched footage captured by security cameras at her friend's home on June 11, 2021. At 6:23 a.m. Greek time, a security camera shows Brondesbury Park, where Mitchell lived with her leaving her home wearing a hat, scarf and backpack and carrying a large blue cloth suitcase.
An hour later, the court saw Mitchell walking down Ealing Street which ends at Chaplin Street, where Ms Chong lived. Prosecutor Dina Heer told the court that Mitchell was no longer wearing the scarf and did not have her backpack, but had been wearing sunglasses and a protective face mask.
Just before 8 a.m., security cameras showed Mitchell on Chaplin Street. “We can see there that she still has the blue suitcase with her. Additionally, we can see much more clearly in this video that he is wearing the protective face mask. “He walks at a normal pace, dragging his wheeled suitcase.
Hours later, at 1:13 p.m., the camera captured her walking down Chaplin Street, away from Ms. Chong's home, carrying two bags: one blue and one red. The red suitcase contained the victim's personal documents, the court heard. In the related video, Mitchell makes a stop with the two suitcases before continuing on her way on foot.
