The head of the World Health Organization today called on countries to work together to end the acute phase of the pandemic covid-19, saying that they now have all the tools to do so.

Schulze noted that a key priority for Germany, which took over the G7 presidency, was to end the global pandemic, and called for "a very accelerated, truly global vaccination campaign" to achieve this goal.

This event in Geneva marks the beginning of a week of meetings of members of the WHO Executive Board to discuss crucial elements for the future of this UN service, including the Center's candidacy for a second term as Secretary-General. proposals to become more financially independent.
