8 new cases in Cyprus - 872 in total

According to the data from the Epidemiological Surveillance Unit of the Ministry of Health, the newly confirmed cases of the SARS-CoV-2 virus are 8 out of a total of 1,968 laboratory diagnoses.

From the program of the Ministry of Health for the examination of 20,000 professionals, 71 laboratory diagnoses have been completed today by the contracting laboratories, without a positive result,
Out of a total of 231 diagnoses from the process of tracking already confirmed cases, 3 cases were identified,
From a total of 176 diagnoses from the Microbiological Laboratories of the General Hospitals, 1 positive result was identified,
From a total of 229 laboratory diagnoses in people who returned from abroad, 2 cases emerged,
From a total of 1,162 laboratory tests by private initiative, 2 positive results were identified,
Out of 99 diagnoses from the audit of 2,000 employees in the retail trade of beverages and foodstuffs and nursing homes, no positive results were obtained, and
From laboratory samples taken by employees at OKYPY, no laboratory diagnosis was completed.

From the program of 20,000 laboratory diagnoses, a total of 11 laboratory tests were completed on Saturday, April 4, and until today at 19,035 pm.

Based on current data, the total number of positive cases was 872 (including the ten detected in the British Bases).

In addition, according to the data, until 3 pm, at the General Hospital of Famagusta, 12 people are being treated, with two of them being treated in the Intensive Care Unit. Their state of health is stable. A discharge was also granted. A total of five patients are being treated by intubation, one in the Intensive Care Unit of the Limassol General Hospital and four in the Nicosia ICU. Also, in the Intensive Care Unit of the Nicosia General Hospital, a patient is still being treated outside the ventilator. The clinical condition of all ICU patients is critical but stable. In addition, in all hospitals, except the reference hospital, five confirmed cases are treated in a ward.
