Handcuffs and a third person for counterfeit banknotes

Yesterday, the Police proceeded with the arrest of a third person, to facilitate investigations regarding an investigated case of counterfeit currency and the circulation of counterfeit currency.

He is a 35-year-old man, according to the police, who was arrested on a warrant. The arrest of the 35-year-old brings the total number of arrests to three, since two other persons, aged 54 and 51, are already in custody.

The case was reported to the Police, by the manager of a bank branch in Paphos, according to which 43 counterfeit 100 US dollar bills were detected in a money shipment of foreign banknotes that took place last January.

From the tests carried out, testimony was obtained against the three arrested, on the basis of which judicial arrest warrants were issued and they were arrested to facilitate investigations.
