A case of theft from a car is being investigated by the Police, members of which proceeded to arrest a 16-year-old yesterday, to facilitate the investigations.
The case was reported on September 11, by a resident of Nicosia. According to the complainant, at noon of the same day, unknown persons stole a bag from the car, which contained three credit cards, his personal documents and the sum of €3,000 in cash.
During the above time, the complainant's car was parked in a cafe parking lot, in Nicosia.
From the Police examinations, a testimony was obtained against a 16-year-old resident of Nicosia. A judicial arrest warrant was issued against him, pursuant to which he was arrested yesterday and taken into custody.
TAE Nicosia is investigating the case.
On the occasion of this case as well, the Police call on the public to be particularly careful and to take their own measures to safeguard their property.
The Police are further advising the public:
• To avoid parking his vehicle in remote or dark areas at night.
• Before leaving the car, make sure all the windows are completely closed and the doors are locked, even if it will be only for a short time.
• Avoid leaving valuables in his car. If such a need arises, these items should not be left exposed in public view, but should be placed under the seats or in the luggage compartment.
