CMIRS: Turkish Cypriots feel fear and concern for their future

T / Cs fear for their financial future, according to the results of the survey of the Center for Immigrants, Identity and Human Rights (CMIRS), with 83,73% stating that they can not afford the "kitchen expenses" ». This percentage last March was at 33,06%.

According to a report by Halkin Sesi, the Center's survey was conducted in April with a sample of 500 people and by the method of telephone interviews. 37,2% stated that their income has decreased. The percentage of those who stated that they are in a very difficult financial situation is 18,4% while in September 2021 it was 10,8%.

The participants of the research recorded the most important problems in the following order: Economy, incompetent / clumsy political leaders, inflation, Cyprus.

72,62% of respondents believe that their financial situation will deteriorate in the next two years, 20,28% believe that it will remain the same and 7,1% believe that it will improve.

86,51% believe that the "country" will go worse financially in the next two years, 9,61% believe that it will remain the same and 3,89% believe that it will go better.

Only 11,6% of the respondents stated that the family financial situation is good.

37,2% said there was a reduction in their finances, 86,95% said they were worried they could not maintain their standard of living and 78,27% said they would not be able to pay in installments by card.

80,32% stated that they can not afford the health expenses they have while in December 2021 this percentage was 78,38% and in March 2021 it was 34,75%.

Only 22,91% of the respondents feel that they have an influence on the Cyprus issue as a citizen and only 34,76% of the respondents feel that they have an influence as a citizen regarding human rights.

Finally, the overwhelming 96,26% believe that "the country is going wrong", which is the highest percentage so far in this question.
