Cases continue to rise in the country, with the Ministry today announcing new measures aimed at halting the pandemic.
Speaking on the front page, Dr. Maria Koliou stated that any measures imposed will take days to act.
"I'm not sure if these measures can help but can not be imposed more severely," said Dr Koliou.
Asked if a vaccinated person could catch the disease, he replied: "A vaccinated person can get sick but mildly. So, instead of getting seriously ill, it is better to be vaccinated ".
Referring to the possibility of a third dose of the vaccine, she clarified that this is only discussed for people with a low defense system, the elderly and people with underlying diseases.
"Research has shown that the immunity we get from vaccines lasts, not just 6-9 months, it lasts much longer," said Dr. Koliou.
