Emergency temporary support for farmers – All information

The Cyprus Agricultural Payments Organization and the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment (Administrative Authority PAA 2014-2020), announce the announcement of Measure 22 for the wheat and sheep farming sectors, following a relevant amendment of the Rural Development Program (PAA) 2014- 2020.

The Measure aims to support farmers and breeders to limit the economic impact of the crisis in the above sectors. The maximum aid per beneficiary amounts to €15.000, in the entirety of the Measure (see relevant Application Manuals for aid amounts).

A. WHEAT FARMING (Budget: 2,4 million euros)

The aid is provided in the form of a flat-rate amount per category of beneficiary, based on the size of the holding according to the eligible area, as approved in the Single Acreage Support Scheme (SACE) for the year 2022.

The following KESE crops are eligible for support:

Barley, Durum Wheat, Wheat (not durum), Triticale, Siphonari, Mixtures.

Beneficiaries are natural or legal persons who meet the following:

a. Natural or Legal Person who has submitted an application to the KESE for the year 2022 and their application is characterized as submitted for the purposes of the KESE by KOAP and

b. is a 'professional farmer' (see relevant Application Manual for requirements)

B. GOAT AND SHEEP FARMING (Budget: 2,8 million euros)

The aid is provided in the form of a flat-rate amount per category of beneficiary, based on the size of the farm, according to the number of female animals (sheep and goats), aged 7 months and over on 31/01/2022, as recorded ( with an individual identification code) in the IRSC database of the Veterinary Services (VS) on the aforementioned date.

Beneficiary is any natural or legal person, the owner of a sheep and goat livestock farm, both on 31/01/2022 and on the closing date of the period for submitting applications to the Measure and for which a census of the animal population has been carried out and results notified to the KY between 31/ 01/2022 and 10/03/2022.

In the event that on the date of the census, the animal population on the holding is 100 or more animals, according to the electronic database of the KY, the animal population census should have been done using a scanner.
The above amounts may be redistributed according to the needs of each sector.

SUBMISSION OF APPLICATIONS

Submission of applications from 13/01/2023 – 25/01/2023 through the Electronic Application System of the CAPO www.eas.capo.gov.cy.

The Application Manuals - Information for Applicants and all accompanying material will be available on the websites of KOAP www.capo.gov.cy and PAA www.paa.gov.cy, with the start of the submission of applications, which interested parties are invited to study.
