10 deaths and 2.667 new cases were announced COVID-19 from January 13 – 19 and 90 people are hospitalized with the positivity rate standing at 3,92%, according to an announcement by the Ministry of Health on Friday.
The deaths concern 9 men and 1 woman between the ages of 72 and 90.
The total number of deaths with the ultimate cause of the disease COVID-19 since the beginning of the pandemic it stands at 1.280. Of the 90 patients, 18 are in serious condition (ICU: 0 off ventilator/5 intubated, ICU: 13) and 3 patients who have ceased to be infectious continue to be intubated due to COVID, in the Intensive Care Unit.
According to the Ministry, a total of 68.093 diagnostic tests were carried out and 2.667 new cases were detected, bringing the total number of cases on the island to 640.729.
1.959 molecular tests were performed and 205 positive cases resulted (10,46% positive rate). 66.134 rapid antigen detection tests were also performed and 2.462 positive cases were recorded (positivity rate 3,72%).
Through a private initiative, 1.497 molecular tests were carried out, 86 positive cases were detected (5,74% positive rate) and 42.411 rapid antigen detection tests of which 2.187 positive cases were detected (5,16% positive rate).
Through the programs of the Ministry of Health, 23.723 rapid antigen detection tests were carried out and 275 positive cases were detected, while at the sampling points 15.456 rapid detection tests were performed and 161 positive cases were detected (1,04% positive rate).
In Primary Education, 1.004 rapid antigen detection tests were performed, 4 positive cases were detected (positivity rate 0,4%), in nursing homes 5.669 antigen rapid detection tests were performed and 105 positive cases were detected (positivity rate 1,85%), and in closed structures, 1.594 rapid antigen detection tests and 5 new cases were detected (positivity rate 0,31%).
