This is how the on-call clinics will operate during the Christmas holidays

Public information on contact details for GP on-call services during December 2022 weekends and Bank Holidays over the Christmas and New Year period.

The Health Insurance Organization informs the public about the contact details of the on-call personal physician (PI) services by province during the weekends of December 2022 and Public Holidays during the Christmas and New Year period (10-11/12/2022, 17-18 /12/2022, 24-26/12/2022 & 31/12/2022 – 01/01/2023).

It is noted that the contact details of the PI on-call services will be adjusted on a monthly basis and will be posted on the GeSY website www.gesy.org.cy as well as on the Agency's official social media accounts.

It is reminded that the on-call services of a personal doctor are provided to adults and children who are beneficiaries of the NHS on weekends and Public Holidays and concern the provision of health care for emergency problems such as the acute onset of alarming symptoms, sudden and severe pain, the worsening of symptoms severe chronic illness, high fever accompanied by other symptoms. Beneficiaries should not turn to PI on-call services for pre-existing medical conditions, issuance of repeated prescriptions, issuance of referrals to other services of the NHS or in cases where they do not have the time to visit their Personal Physician.

The hours of operation of the services are on weekends and Public Holidays at the following times:
 Saturday: 9.00 – 17.00
 Sunday and Public Holiday: 15.00 – 19.00

For their service, the beneficiaries contact the PI emergency services of their province by telephone during the operating hours of the emergency services. After assessing the health problem, an appointment is arranged during the day and during the opening hours of the on-call services. It is emphasized that, in order to properly serve the beneficiaries, the services operate only with scheduled appointments.
