Yellow Warning for Thunderstorms and Hail - When in effect

The Department of Meteorology has issued a yellow warning for storms and hail.

The warning is in effect from 11am on Wednesday 20/3 until 5pm on the same day.

Today the weather will be partly cloudy and temporarily mostly cloudy and local rain and isolated thunderstorms are expected, initially mainly in the west and north and gradually in the rest of the areas. In a storm it is possible that hail will fall. Winds will blow southwest to northwest, initially light to moderate 3 to 4 and locally to strong, 4 to 5 Beaufort and later on the south coast strong, 5 and transient to very strong 5 to 6 Beaufort. The sea will be slightly rough to rough. The temperature will rise to around 20 degrees in the interior and on the northern coasts, around 21 on the south-east and on the eastern coasts, around 19 on the rest of the coasts and around 9 degrees on the higher mountains.

Tonight locally increased clouds are expected to give isolated showers on the west and south coasts, while locally inland a thin fog will form. Winds will be mainly southwest to northwest, light 3 and transient to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort. The sea will gradually become a little rough and in the east calm to a little rough. The temperature will drop to around 9 degrees in the interior and on the northern coasts, around 12 on the western coasts, around 11 on the rest of the coasts and around 3 degrees in the higher mountains, where frost may form locally.
On Thursday and Friday after midday, partly increased clouds likely to give isolated rain mainly in the northeast on Thursday and in the mountains and inland on Friday. On Saturday, isolated rains or even a short storm are expected mainly in the mountains and in the southeast.

The temperature until Saturday is expected to gradually drop slightly, to fluctuate slightly below the average climatic values.
