Oktay: We support initiatives to revitalize Varos

Turkish Vice President Fuat Oktay, in a debate in parliament on the budget, noted that the pseudo-state has full power and control over the besieged city of Famagusta and that it is the only authority that will decide on the future of the region.

Fuat Oktay reiterated their support for initiatives to revive Russia.

"I would like to emphasize once again that Turkey is not going to make the slightest concession in terms of its hydrocarbon interests in Cyprus, the Aegean or the eastern Mediterranean."

The Turkish vice president said that they strengthened their presence in the field through effective diplomacy and through research and drilling activities, as well as the armed forces.

"The eastern Mediterranean is a national issue for us. Just as we do not envy anyone's rights, so we do not allow anyone to usurp our own. As we have done in the past, we will never allow any foreign country, company or ship to operate without a license in our maritime jurisdiction. "The steps taken by Greece and the Greek Cypriot Sector, the ill-educated of the European Union, against our country and the Turkish Cypriots will not be accepted," he said.

At the same time, he explained that Turkey has strong ties with the Gulf countries, as they stem from the past and common values.

"We believe that the differences of opinion that arise from time to time can be resolved through dialogue and regular contacts and we emphasize that we are ready to respond to the positive and honest steps that have been taken in this direction. The high level contacts we have made with the countries of the region and the communication channels that have been opened recently are indicators of this attitude. Negotiations with Egypt continue to normalize relations. "As with all other countries, we will act in the direction required by the rights and interests of our nation with the Gulf countries and we will never back down in terms of the dignity of our state."
