The Larnaca District Court today sentenced a 28-year-old man to 3 years and 6 months in prison, after finding him guilty in an investigated case of assisting third-country nationals to enter the Republic illegally.
According to the case, the 28-year-old was found transporting by car, in the free areas of the Republic, a number of persons who entered the Republic illegally.
The car driven by the 28-year-old was stopped for inspection by members of the Larnaca Police Directorate, in the area of Pyla and Oroklini. The vehicle was carrying five other persons, third-country nationals, who from the examinations so far, seem to have entered the Republic illegally.
The 28-year-old received the five persons in the occupied areas and transported them with his vehicle to the free areas of the Republic, where he was stopped by the members of the Police.
