€5.000 fine and loss of license to the 31-year-old who drove 258 km

A 31-year-old man, who was found to be driving at a speed of 258 km/h instead of 100 km/h, was brought before the Nicosia District Court today, where he was ordered to bail in the amount of 5.000 euros and banned from driving a motor vehicle until the completion of the court proceedings, which was set for 15 /09/2022.

The vehicle driven by the 31-year-old was stopped for a check by members of the Police (OPOD Headquarters), shortly after midnight on the Limassol-Nicosia highway, since it was traveling at a speed of 258 MPH instead of 100, which is the permitted limit. Also, the 31-year-old underwent an alcohol test, with a final reading of 48µg% instead of 22µg%.
