The Speaker of Parliament, Annita Dimitriou, assured the Committee of Occupied Municipalities that the issue of compensation to the refugee population for the loss of use of occupied property concerns the State in various ways.

Ms. Dimitriou met yesterday with the chairman and members of the Committee of Occupied Municipalities, with whom she discussed issues of concern to the refugee world with particular emphasis on issues of equal burden sharing, loss of use of occupied properties and enlightenment issues abroad.

According to a statement from the House of Representatives, the Speaker of Parliament, expressing the full support of all parliamentary parties in the refugee world that has been tested and continues to be severely tested for more than forty-seven years after the Turkish invasion of 1974, said that the issue of compensation with regard to the loss of use of occupied properties concerns the State in various ways.
