The captain of the National Guard, Xanthos Kyriakou, 32 years old, formerly from Limassol, died tragically this morning, during a planned exercise that was carried out in an area of Trooditissa.
According to the data under examination, while Kyriakou was attempting (around 8.30am) to fall, under conditions that are being investigated, he fell from a height of about 40 meters, into a ravine.
The 32-year-old was picked up by a National Guard helicopter and transported to Nicosia General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The Platres Police Station in collaboration with the Limassol Police Department and the National Guard, continue the examinations.
