Mexico mayoral candidate abducted - They put a noose around his neck because he did not do what he was told. The residents of the city blamed Kamatsos for not building the road network, not securing the water supply and not improving the school infrastructure for their children.
Juan Camacho toured the city of San Cristobal de las Casas on May 16 when both he and his associates were ambushed and held hostage for a total of nine hours. Initially, the residents asked Kamatsos about everything he did not do after the promises he gave them in order to be elected in 9 as a senator.
The residents of the city blamed Kamatsos for not building the road network, not securing the water supply and not improving the school infrastructure for their children. At one point while Kamacho was trying to give answers, some of the residents immobilized him, put a noose around his neck and demanded $ 15.000 to set him free.
Kamacho was eventually released with local media reporting that he had paid the ransom, although he himself denied that such a thing had happened.
