In the Plenary Session of the Parliament for voting the bills for RES

At the plenary session of the House of Representatives on Thursday, the bills on Renewable Energy Sources will be put to a vote after their discussion in the Parliamentary Energy Committee.

In statements, the Chairman of the Committee Kyriakos Hatzigianni said that during today's session the examination of the bills concerning RES was completed. He thanked all the members of the Commission noting that a huge work has been done.

"We have completed, in substance and in substance, these three bills that have a comprehensive philosophy - every roof in this place, without any bureaucracies, so that the tenants or the residents of the apartment buildings can be the beneficiaries of this good that It is called the sun and through the sun to produce electricity for their own consumption ", he noted.

He will go to the Plenary on Thursday, he said, and wished "that there is a majority that will send a message that Cyprus is determined to achieve the goals as soon as possible."

"We are introducing a procedure for a quick response to applications for photovoltaics or RES projects. We are introducing certificates of origin, which can be traded through the market for the purpose of accelerating the green transition. "We are introducing the right of every citizen to put photovoltaics in their homes," he added.

Asked about grants, he said that "plans are another matter, we are talking about procedures. No final approval permits, no conditions or requirements. Photovoltaics are a simple package, as is any electronic device in the home. "All the unnecessary bureaucratic 'fantasies' that in the past were imposed either through plans or through implementation or through policies resulted in the Cypriot consumer not putting photovoltaics on its ceilings and that is why we say that we have achieved this impossible." .

The specifications are purely a responsibility and this is stated in the law of the one who installs the technology.

For his part, EDEK MP Myrianthous Elias welcomed the completion of the examination of the bills for RES.

"As the final text of the bill has been formulated, it will give encouragement to many citizens to install RES either in their businesses or in their homes, and this will enable the state to achieve the goals we owe to it. "European Union and taking into account the problems that arise at this time with the increase in the cost of electricity consumption and energy in general," he noted.

We believe, he continued, that the Ministry of Trade and Energy will prepare various plans to subsidize and strengthen the installation of photovoltaic systems in businesses and homes.

For his part, Stavros Papadouris, Member of Parliament for the Ecologists 'Movement-Citizens' Cooperation, said: "I am pleased to announce that the second amendment we have tabled as an Ecologists 'Movement to add a representative of the Consumers' Association to the Committee now incorporated in the bill ".

This, he continued, was a reasonable, rational requirement that we had, the consumers, who pay through the EAC account, to have a permanent regular account in the management decisions of this Fund.

"I am pleased to note that all members of the Commission understood the fair request and decided that it would be incorporated into this bill," he added.
