Condolences PtD for the former Prime Minister of Japan

The political leadership of Cyprus expressed its condolences for the assassination of the former Prime Minister of Japan, Shinzo Abe, on Friday.

In a post on his personal Twitter account, the President of the Republic, Nikos Anastasiades, stated that "I was shocked to learn of the brutal murder of the former Prime Minister of Japan, Shinzo Abe. May his soul rest in peace. At this difficult time, our thoughts and prayers are with his family and the friendly people of Japan."

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cyprus also expressed its condolences "to the Government and people of Japan as well as to the family and friends of former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe".

"We share their grief at his loss, following the horrific attack on his life earlier today," the ministry said in a tweet.
