SYPRODAT: The Government should provide solutions to the borrowers' problems

The Government must deal thoroughly and provide immediate solutions to the problems of borrowers, says the Association for the Protection of Bank Borrowers (SYPRODAT) and adds that "so far the Government is not exerting the pressure it should exert" on the banks and credit recovery companies .

In a statement, SYPRODAT states that while "Banks' profits are on the rise, as can be seen from their own announcements and admissions, borrowers continue to painfully experience the accuracy of goods and services and are forced to pay an increased loan installment due to the imposition of a high interest rate for tackling inflation".

He states that "for some time now we have been expecting substantial compensatory measures, as was done in Greece" and adds that "we must not forget that the country's economy is based on the borrowers, small and medium enterprises and households", he adds that "the borrowers are forced every day to they ask for substantial support and help. The borrowers are not beggars, but they are asking for what they are legally entitled to and should be given" and invites them to contact their bank and Credit Acquisition Company, asking for a restructuring within which to negotiate rationally and with arguments the position that they should to receive more support than they are given.
