The immediate intervention of members of the Police led to the arrest of a 41-year-old man who allegedly attempted to steal a car in Nicosia. An arrest warrant was pending against him for another case of theft, which was committed in the province of Nicosia last May. Specifically, around 5.30:XNUMX p.m. yesterday, information was received that an unknown man is trying to break into a car, in a parking lot, in Nicosia.
Members of the Ledra Substation immediately went to the area, where they found the unknown man inside the car. As it was established, it was a 41-year-old man.
Various burglary tools and a car battery were also found inside the vehicle, for which the 41-year-old did not provide a sufficient explanation as to how he came into his possession.
The 41-year-old was arrested for the apparent offenses of illegal possession of property and burglary tools.
From further examinations, it was established that a judicial arrest warrant was pending against the 41-year-old, in connection with a case of theft committed in the province of Nicosia, in May 2022.
Specifically, according to a complaint made to the Police, on May 30, unknown persons illegally entered a property, located in a field, in a village in the district of Nicosia and stole various electrical tools.
As a result of the Police's examinations for this specific case, a testimony was obtained against the 41-year-old, on the basis of which a judicial arrest warrant was issued against him.
The two cases are being investigated by the TAE of Nicosia and the Lakatamia Police Station.
