A FEW WORDS ABOUT THE PROJECT:
An unexpected consular visit to a small-town house in Athens triggers the outbreak of minor misunderstandings, incessant outbursts and upheavals. The apparently formal intercourse between the Stenos and Mr. and Mrs. Nerulu is mercilessly parodied, ending in absurd disaster.
The author captures the world of his time, erasing the weakness and moral distortion of its people. Ignorance, xenophobia, hypocrisy and snobbery come to the fore in a thoughtful way, and highlight attitudes and perceptions of the past as individual and collective symptoms of the present.
Taking a playful look at the comedic dialogues, recognizable characters and delicate situations of Kapetanakis' work, the female directors and an ensemble cast offer a fast-paced, enjoyable performance. The satirical discourse is lightened, the humor is heightened, and the funny and the exaggerated are emphasized in an attempt to present a spartan comedy whose reality remains relevant and timeless.
