LIOPETRI: Event of presentation of books by popular poet Petros Michalis Raftis

On Wednesday, January 8, 2020, it will take place in the event hall of the 6nd Municipal Liopetri, at 30:XNUMX p.m. event of presentation of the two new books of the popular poet of Liopetri, Petros Michalis Raftis.

The first book that will be presented, "My grandfather's trauthkia" is dedicated by the author to his grandfather, the great popular Liopetriti poet, Nikolas Kouvaros. Most of the material in this edition comes from recordings made by the author of oral narratives. Includes quotes from Grandpa Kouvaros and various stories, in which the great folk poet of the community participated. With this publication, Petros M. Raftis realizes a dream of many years.

Also, in the same event will be presented the book "Kotrofisimi Liopetritissa Foni - 100 Years of Intangible Cultural Heritage - Documented Edition". The identity and history of this voice particularly concerned the author of the book, who through thorough research and study, testimonies and interviews of people with whom he met and discussed the subject, came to this documented version, based on data and information collected. The results of this effort enrich the information about Kotrofisimi Voice and are sources of information for all of us. This new book by Petros is an important tool of knowledge for the Kotrofisimi voice, a great complement to the information that already exists and a testimony of the author's soul on this subject, which occupied him, arousing his interest and stimulating his love for tradition. .

The event will be greeted by the President of the community of Liopetri, Mr. Kyriakos Trisokkas, the President of the Pancyprian Group of Cypriot Folk Poets and Friends, Mr. Antonis Katsantonis and Mr. Michalis Hatzimichael.

The presentations of the books will be made by Mr. Kosmas Oikonomou for the first and Mrs. Andri Modestou-Paraskeva for the second, respectively. Poems will be recited by grandchildren and great-grandchildren of Nikolas Kouvaros, dedicated to him, while Mr. Andreas Gristakkos will interpret Kotrofisimi's voice with his pithkiavlin.

The Kotrofisimi Foni will also be performed by the brothers Kouloumi, Petros and Michalis. The event is under the auspices of the Community Council of Liopetri.
