Under the front-page headline "Three hotels open in closed Varosi", Yeni Bakış (28.04.23) writes that a Turkish Cypriot businessman said he bought three hotels and two floors of apartment buildings in closed Famagusta from their owners and added that he would open them for bookings for 2025, in case no obstacle arises within two months.
The publication also states that the Turkish Cypriot businessman also bought two floors in an apartment building to house people who will work at the hotel. The newspaper adds the following:
"The Turkish Cypriot businessman, who also received approval from the Greek Cypriot Ministry of the Interior for the purchase contract for the hotels and apartment buildings he bought, said that he is inspired by Turkey's stance on the issue of Vaross and the statements it constantly makes on the issue of Varossos Turkey's ambassador to the pseudo-state, Metin Feizioglu.
The Turkish Cypriot businessman, who said he turned his investments to Varosi due to the Greek Cypriot Ministry of Interior approving the sales in this matter and validating the deals, said he will now make all his investments in the pseudo-state in Varosi and bring back in Varosi in its old days.
'We will start taking bookings for 2025 within a month'
The business investor, who said he has been following the Vaross issue closely for four years, said he bought the hotels by meeting with their owners and getting approval for it from the Greek Cypriot Interior Ministry and the pseudo-state's interior ministry.
The businessman, who is preparing to sign deals with tour operators abroad, said he would start taking bookings for 2025 within a month, should no obstacle arise.
'A big step for the pseudo-state'
"Turkey's position and the pseudo-state's position on the issue of Varosi is well known, I don't think we will experience any problem," said the businessman. Saying that thanks to this plan, the region of Varosios and Famagusta will be developed, the businessman said that this move is a very big step for the pseudo-state.

Stating that he also gained ground in the pseudo-state, the businessman said that for the next few days he is meeting with the owners to buy six more hotels and that he will soon buy six more hotels. The businessman continued: 'Those who want to enter and return to Varosha in a virtual environment, the hotels and the closed Varosha through the metaverse (cyprusvarosha.com) and satisfy their curiosity, will be able to return the closed Varosha to the pseudo-state from every part of the world and make their presentations or meetings. A tender will also be announced for strengthening the structure of the hotels, for the interior design and the construction of the materials.
