The beaches of free Famagusta will be ready tomorrow morning to welcome the bathers who, weather permitting, will leave on the occasion of the relaxation of the restrictive measures and the start of operation of the organized beaches.

The Famagusta.News was found on one of the most popular beaches for Cypriots but especially for the residents of the area, at Makronisos beach in Ayia Napa, where last Tuesday the staff of the Municipality from early in the morning proceeded with the installation of equipment, sunbeds and umbrellas.

According to what he said at Famagusta.News The beach manager of the Municipality of Ayia Napa, Dimitris Pateras, on the beach have been placed around 500 sunbeds, all at the required distances according to the protocol of the Ministry of Health. Also, special signs have been placed with instructions for the observance of the self-protection measures for the public, special signs, soaps and antiseptics in the sanitary areas, as well as various changes in the showers and equipment of the beach.

Additional costs for the Municipality, no increase in prices for the public

According to Mr. Dimitris Pateras, the Municipality of Ayia Napa has proceeded with the purchase of a special cover which will be placed on the sunbeds before each rental and after it is first disinfected. Also, the staff of the Municipality will bring the required protective equipment, masks and gloves, while special soaps and antiseptics will be placed in the sanitary areas. All this, they said, has additional costs for the Municipality, which will be borne by the local authority itself, without burdening the visitor in any case, since the price for each set with 2 sunbeds and an umbrella will remain at € 7,50 (€ 2,50 each item).

Public cooperation with staff is required

As stated by the Mayor of Ayia Napa, Christos Zannetou, the most important thing is for the visitor to understand that cooperation with the staff is needed. It is logical, he said, that there should be a delay in renting, as it will be necessary to disinfect the sunbed and place the special cover first, but visitors should also have an understanding and observe their own self-protection measures. Also, regarding the empty space of the beach (50%), the visitors should keep their distance when placing their towels and umbrellas.
