On Friday, June 19, 2020, the Minister of Transport, Communications and Works, Mr. Giannis Karousos, and the Mayor of Ayia Natoupa, Mr. Christos Zantan, paid a site visit to the site where the Agia Napa Fire Station will be erected, next to the Police Station.
The two men were accompanied by the Director of Public Works, the Deputy Director of the Fire Service and the Chief of Staff of the Famagusta Fire Station.
The construction of the Fire Station will begin in the year 2021 and will be completed in 2022. The total cost of the project will amount to 3m euros.
In his statements, the Minister of Transport, Communications and Works, Mr. Giannis Karousos, stated that the commitments of the Government have become a reality and we are here today to supervise the space and to proceed with the process of its construction. The construction of the Agia Napa Fire Station added that it is a very important project that will contribute greatly to the prevention and valid treatment of fires.
For his part, the Mayor of Ayia Napa thanked the Minister for his presence, especially for the personal interest he showed in this project and the Government that has warmly seen the request of the Municipality and is proceeding with its implementation.
Mr. Zannettou pointed out that this important project is a constant request of the Municipality of Ayia Napa, which will benefit not only Ayia Napa but also the wider area of Famagusta.
